Youth Work in Trades

Are you working in a trade?  If so, you could be eligible for the following benefits:

  • School Credit - 4 Elective credits for every 120 hours you work.
  • Hours are reported toward trade certification.
  • $1000.00 award*

 

You are eligible if you:

  • are between 15 and 19 years of age
  • are enrolled in a school in grade 10, 11 or 12
  • have paid work in an certified trade
  • have a certified tradesperson as a sponsor
  • have parent/guardian permission.

* $1000 Reward Criteria

  • Registered with SkilledTradesBC as a youth apprentice.
  • Graduated with a Regular/Adult Dogwood.
  • Maintained a minimum C+ average in Grade 12 courses. 
  • Have 900 hours or more reported on your apprenticeship transcript by August 31st of the year you turn 19.
  • have parent/guardian permission.
